Our Factories
"At Eartha, we only work with manufacturers who share the same values that we do"
It took a year of research before making the first Eartha collection because it was important to us to ensure the manufacturer we worked with had the certifications necessary to ensure the garment workers were paid a living wage and work in safe and fair working conditions. There were a lot of set backs and difficulties in finding this initial manufacturer because the fast fashion culture of low price and high turnover has made slow fashion and ethical manufacturers few and far between.
In January 2022, the decision was made to move the manufacturing to the UK, specifically to my hometown of Scarborough.

India - Our manufacturing partner in India is the first factory we worked with and who made the entire Natural collection. They produced the bralettes, high waisted pants, thongs, pants and socks for Eartha in 2021/2022.
They hold the following certifications:
Gots certified*
The GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres.
-------------
SA 8000 -
In order to achieve SA8000 certification, an organisation has to demonstrate that they meet a standard for worker safety and well-being. The benefits to employees working in SA8000-certified organisations include:
- Safe workplaces and healthy working conditions
- A living wage
- Increased awareness of rights and opportunities to organize
- Better relationships with management and more input in workplace decision-making

Sedex - Smeta (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit)
SMETA is Sedex’s social auditing methodology, enabling businesses to assess their sites and suppliers to understand working conditions in their supply chain.
Social audits enable businesses to assess their suppliers, monitor health and safety for workers, and signal zero tolerance of human rights abuses such as child and forced labour. Once an audit is complete, buyer and supplier businesses can work together to address any issues, based on a Corrective Action Plan (CAPR).
-------------
Global Conformity Program For Sustainability - Ethical Conformity
The manufacturer has met the international requirements of the Global Conformity program for sustainability in full. It has been verified that the organisation fulfils the requirements to operate in a socially responsible fashion, considering the safety and human rights of workers, banning child labor, and working against discrimination within the work place.

Further to the above, the manufacturer also holds the following:
Prevention of sexual harassment registration from Indian government
